As the 2018-2019 school year comes to a close, it is time to recognize the seniors in journalism. This particular senior, Jacob Villegas, was in journalism as a freshman and again this year as a senior. Villegas’ interest in writing and reporting on events happening around him prompted him to take this class.
While at Ayala, Villegas has played a vital role in both the cross country and track teams, as he helped the boys’ cross country team progress through the post season, and also made exceptional improvements on his previous times each year.
Said Villegas, “Running has been a passion of mine for a while, and it has really taught me the value of hard work and what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.” Aside from the many hours of running practices and races, some of Villegas’ more memorable moments at Ayala include attending the 20thth annual Madrigal Feaste, the Polynesian Club Luaus, and the many school rallies.
In his free time, Villegas enjoys watching movies (especially the Lord of the Rings series), going out with friends, and spending time with his family. Following graduation, Villegas will attend Loyola Marymount University on an athletic scholarship, and with that we wish Jacob Villegas success in his future endeavors at LMU and beyond!
