Boys Cross Country

Mile after mile, the Boy’s Cross Country team spends a majority of their mornings running and preparing for races while the rest of us are home sleeping. These students train continuously and are always working towards their running goals.
The Cross Country team starts practice around 5:45 am with a warm-up run of nearly 14 miles. Despite all the effort that goes into being a part of the team, all the athletes believe that the bonding and friendship they have obtained make it worth it.
The team is led by a committee of three, which includes Tony Dimarco and Ayala's very own Matthew Ullmann. Together this trio creates a safe place for these students and they foster these kids for the sport.
The students feel this sport as not only a passion but a home and family. According to sophomore Dominic Ruiz, "I love how close the team and how supportive everyone is whether in races, pasta parties, or at school in general."
Cross Country is also highly recognized as second place in the league last year. Students also went to CIF championships and one student went to the Nike Cross Nationals. These boys work together and make their time worth it. They train several days a week and have races on certain Saturdays.
Despite all the work and commitment the boys and coaches love what they do and can't wait to see what this upcoming season brings for them.
