Music Alert

Music in this generation is a big thing. Everyone all over the world listens to it. Probably different genres but music is music and it is very influential to us. In general, music was made for everyone but for this generation, music helps us get through rough times or good times. The genre of this generation leans more to rap music because we hear it almost everywhere, even at school rallies and on campus.

Isabel Frondarina said her favorite album is Blonde by Frank Ocean because it reminds her of a simpler time in my life before highschool. “‘Ivy’ is my favorite song by Frank Ocean because it’s sad,” she said. She ranks Frank Ocean as one of her favorite artists. If she had to pick one artist to listen to, for the rest of her life it would be Frank Ocean.

Music to her is a way of expression. She started listening to music when she was born. Frondarina doesn’t make music though; she just listens to it. If she had to pick one song to play for the rest of her life it would be “How To Love” by Lil Wayne. She proceeded to say music can inspire people because they usually have a message or influence on people. Her three top songs are “bless the bottle, love Sosa” by Chief Keef, and “everybody” by Mac Miller. Overall for this generation, music is a big part of our everyday lives.

Joseph Lawson also remarked that his favorite album is Coastal Grooves by Blood Orange because “it makes me feel powerful and in control.”

However, Lawson’s favorite song is “Ribs” by Lorde since it  “embodies nostalgia.” His favorite artist is Solange because she represents black excellence. To Lawson music is a conduit for creative energy, to him it’s a release. He also started getting into music during his middle school years. He does not make music.

“Lorde is my favorite artist in the music industry,” said Lawson. Music inspires Lawson because it is just so freeing. His top three songs, including Lorde’s “Ribs,” would be “Binz” by Solange and “The Complete Knock” by Blood Orange.

Lastly, Raylene Sandoval said her favorite album is Fine Line because “the songs are good to vibe out to and his voice is beautiful.”

Her favorite song is “3:15” by Bazzi, as she thinks it’s cute. “My favorite artists are Bazzi or Niall, I can’t choose one,” she said.

To Sandoval, music means something that people can let out and express their inner feelings in a unique way. If she had to pick one song to listen to for the rest of her life it would be the oldie “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears For Fears. Her top three songs are “Ridin Solo” by Jason Derulo, “Cherry” by Harry Styles, and lastly “18” by One Direction.
